 Re: weapons bags
Pretty fabrics. I wonder how well they'd hold up compared to something like the cordura nylon. Maybe we would reinforce the bottom of the bags with leather?

 Re: weapons bags
Very pretty for custom jobs, but 15$/yd is just not profit friendly...

 Re: weapons bags
yeah, i didnt notice a price. i bet joann fabrics would have similar stuff. i thought if the fabric was thin that we could double layer w/some type of canvas or like barry said w/leather.
maybe we could make a single bokken bag out of it or somethin

 Re: weapons bags
whose sewing machine do you plan on feeding leather/canvas through? carrie's may take it, but most non-commercial/home-use sewing machines are not designed for multiple layers of so much heavy.

 Re: weapons bags
irineo has a commercial machine...we talked about it at kaleisha a couple months ago. dont necessarily need to use canvas. could use a heavier cotton or a 10/14 weight duck canvas

 Re: weapons bags
we just need to take initiative. Somebody should call Irineo and see if he got samples of the canvas he was talking about; otherwise something like this works very, very well: http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Hardw ... ylon-BlackI bought some of the ballistic nylon, meredith should have it. the heavier the denier weight, the better - 1680 is about tops. I think we can find better prices than the link I listed, I didn't look.

 Re: weapons bags
Our first try at making weapon's bags yesterday was a success! We finished 8 bags, have 2 already set up to be sewn together (which will hopefully be done this week) and enough materials for another 10 bags.
Fabric used varied from canvas, suede, sail, and nagahide...
We had more sewing machine issues than expected and had several broken sewing needles, but once we figured it out, it was a productive day and hopefully next time we do it (maybe in 2 weeks or so?) we'll be able to be more productive. If you are interested in helping, please let one of us know.
