Membership Dues

Membership with USF Aikido is under the Aikido Chuseikan of Tampa Bay dojo; all USF Aikido students are also members of Aikido Chuseikan.  There are four categories of membership: Visitors, non-testing Students, Full Students, and Community Members.  All dues are managed through electronic subscription; we do not accept checks or cash.  Membership is required for classes to count toward promotion and ranking.

Mat fee / Visitors
If you are just visiting from off-campus or training irregularly, a small donation (five dollars) per class is an expected, traditional, and respectful gesture.  Please pay using the following link:

Unranked University Students
University of South Florida students who wish to train with USF Aikido, but who have not yet tested for rank, can join at the rate of $20 per month, paid via a monthly subscription.  This membership level allows students to train at all USF Aikido classes and participate in all activities and socials held by USF Aikido and Aikido Chuseikan of Tampa Bay.  When they are ready to test for their first rank, unranked students must pay for their first test fees, uniform, and membership with the national organization.

Ranked Students – Full Members
Full-time university students (9+ credits) who have tested for Aikido rank join as Full Members.  Full Members have future annual membership to the national organization (Aikido Schools of Ueshiba) and future testing fees included as part of their monthly dues, and can train as full members of the Aikido Chuseikan of Tampa Bay dojo.  Full Student Membership is $45 per month.

Community Members
Non-university students who wish to train at USF Aikido are encouraged to become members of the Aikido Chuseikan of Tampa Bay dojo, which allows unlimited training at both the Ybor City dojo as well as the University of South Florida club.  More information on non-student memberships is available on the Aikido Chuseikan of Tampa Bay website.

What are the fees for testing and promotion?
We use the promotion system and fee structure of our national association, the Aikido Schools of Ueshiba (ASU). After your first test, you will join the Aikido Chuseikan of Tampa Bay dojo as a full student member, and your testing and promotion fees are included with your dues.
